It’s best to run your pool pump for 8–12 hours a day, ideally during daylight hours when algae growth is most active. Proper circulation helps keep water clean and ensures chemicals are distributed evenly. Your specific run time may vary depending on your pool size, equipment, and local conditions — we’re happy to help you customize a schedule!
Cloudy water can be caused by poor filtration, unbalanced water chemistry, or contaminants like fine debris and body oils. Even if chlorine is present, if pH or alkalinity is off, chlorine won’t work effectively. Regular testing and balancing, proper filter maintenance, and routine cleaning help keep water clear.
A good rule of thumb is to watch your filter pressure gauge. If the pressure rises 8–10 PSI above the normal starting level, it’s time to clean. Other signs include reduced water flow, cloudy water, or debris returning to the pool. Regular cleaning keeps your system efficient and your water crystal clear.
